Improved drill options and more!
| Updated drill experience in Power BI Desktop and service In the August update of Power BI Desktop, we released the general availability of inline hierarchies. Inline hierarchies let you explore your data as you drill down in the context of your hierarchies. Since that update, we have heard feedback from you that while this new experience is very useful, you still have a need for the older experience, especially when using drill with unrelated categories in the hierarchy. We listened to your feedback, and last week we released an update that gives you the ability to use both of these experience in one chart. This experience also applies to the Power BI service. You can find all the details on this update in our blog post. | | | | Introducing the new Power BI JavaScript API Power BI is excited to announce the release of our new JavaScript API, which provides bidirectional communication between Power BI reports and your application. This API enables you to more easily embed reports into your applications and programmatically interact with those reports. Now your application can open reports with the correct context for your users, as well as change that context after the report has already been loaded. Read more about this big update in our announcement blog post. | | | | Become a Power BI master with our free edX course Whether you've just started with Power BI or you're already an experienced user who wants to take their analytics to the next level, our free edX course is for you!
