Catch up on the July changes to Power BI Desktop

The Power BI desktop update notes for July are here, and we've introduced some features that will enhance the overall user experience. Now you can quickly choose the look of tables in your report with the new predefined table styles properties, and use a custom map with the Shape Map visual. We've also launched two new data connectors in this release: Amazon Redshift and Impala. Along with new connectors, we've improved existing ones, such as adding support for fixed-width delimited files for CSV/Text sources. Check out all of our great updates to Desktop in the official blog post!

Stay informed with new data driven alerts

Last week we launched data driven alerts on the Power BI service, and the Mobile apps for iOS and Windows 10 (and soon on Android). You can set an alert directly from the Power BI service, or through the Power BI Mobile app. Alerts will trigger at certain thresholds on your most important metrics for card, gauge, and KPI tiles. When you get an alert, just click on the push notification to be taken right to the applicable data. With data driven alerts, you'll always stay one step ahead of your business.
